A+C was enlisted by hotel search giants trivago to produce 'To the Mountains', a puppet based stop-motion commercial which broke away from their familiar presenter led ads.
Storyboarding the production involved visualising the characters swiping on a tablet, being transported between different hotel and holiday locations as they decide which one is right for them.
We brought the storyboard to life with an animatic accompanied by scratch sound, which allowed us to plan timings for the final animation.
Creating fully furnished sets in stop-motion is always a joy. Every pillow, chair and duvet was created with animation in mind; each being filled with foam to prevent deformation or being internally rigged with wire so that they could be animated easily.
The models and sets for the production were built by a team of model-makers fresh off the back of working on Wes Anderson's hit film Isle of Dogs. The animation took ten weeks to produce, with all elements of production taking place in-house.
