Our character designer created a number of illustrated characters for this campaign. Each character required its own unique personality to bring it to life.
There is sometimes a temptation when animating a simple dialogue scene to begin over-complicating things. Having an established storyboard to work from kept the animation process streamlined and consistent.
Using the dialogue recorded by a pair of actors, we edited the storyboard in order for our stop-motion animator to calculate timings and replacement mouths.
Each of the voices in ReDefine Haemophilia were recorded prior to the animation shoot; it was then the animator’s job to synchronise the lips and movements of the characters to the vocal track in order to bring them to life.
A number of replacement mouths were used by our animation team on order for the puppets to match the actors’ dialogue. This meant that an individual mouth had to be moulded for each syllable in the English language. The model-makers had to create an individual set of mouths for each character in the films.
