When designing the characters for this AXA film, a limited colour palette was used. The simplified character designs and sets helped to create a cartoon-like feel for the whole Claymation advertisement.
Drawing a storyboard helped us visualise how each scene would come together. Lots of the final visual gags in the film came directly from these boards.
The film was shot on glass, so each character and prop was created as a 2D element using Plasticine. Every element was shot from above, top down, meaning our animators didn’t have to worry about gravity.
