The design aim for this 2D animated production was to make the final animation look like a watercolour painting. We created a number of picturesque scenes throughout the design process that we felt encompassed the feel of Ascot’s Spring Garden Show.
Storyboarding this production for Ascot was completed so we could work out the best way of showcasing all the garden show has to offer.
Creating an animatic for a 2D animation is important to get a sense of timing for each shot. This animatic helped us plan the transitions between the scenes in the storyboard.
For all of our 2D animations, everything starts on paper. After our designer’s initial sketches we then moved onto a tablet, creating the visuals you see in the final film.
