During lockdown, an unprecedented number of creatives left their beloved Hackney and Peckham for Margate's beautiful sunsets. 1. Visit A+C. Studio Come and drool at our spacious and well-equipped studio, meet the makers and feel the magic of stop - motion - better still, make a weekend of it and give the 100 other highlights a whirl.
2. Fort Road Hotel
With its fabulous sea views, Margate's Fort Road Hotel is ideally located a stone's throw from the beach, the old town and the Turner Contemporary.

12. Haeckels House
Sustainable beauty brand Haeckels went into business with hand-harvested, organic products made from Margate seaweed, opened Haeckels House this spring, it now has a spa worthy of its cult following.
13. Shell Grotto
A Margate oddity where 4.5 million shells make up its mosaic walls. Who created it and why - no one knows.
14. Margate Caves
This former chalk mine has been an air raid shelter, smugglers' cave and a wine cellar.
15.Tom Thumb
One of the world's smallest theatres. Head here for intimate gigs, comedy, burlesque and indie films. Plus, there is a cool bar.
16. The Tudor House
The Tudor House was built in 1525 and is thought to be one of the oldest houses in Kent. The house has been frozen in time and serves as a small museum.

22. The Taproom Cliftonville. Tables outside for Northdown Road watching and a decent booze selection.
23. WILDES in Margate's Old Town is a beautiful bistro which is great for brunch during the day and cocktails at night.
24. The Little Prince is the UK's smallest pub.
25. Rose in June is a beautiful pub and serves some banging food.
26. The Fez on the High Street is a quirky hangout - Good on Tuesday Ukelele Nights
27. Rey is The Rose In Junes, little sister - beautiful views and superb drinks.
28. Daisy - In my opinion, the best cocktails in Margate - if not Kent.
29. The George and Heart - Nice boozer which offers accommodation.
30. The London Tavern has a welcoming atmosphere, fires when it's chilly, and BBQs when it's roasting. Top Sunday roasts too.
